Oil and Filter Alter

Always alter the oil and filter at the intervals outlined in the Periodic Maintenance Chart start on Maintenance Nautical chart Tables. Ever change the oil filter whenever changing oil.

Access the oil check dipstick through the right rear wheel well. Access the oil fill cap through the service access console on the floor of the cargo box.

The crankcase drain plug is located on the bottom of the crankcase. Access the bleed plug through the access hole under the crankcase.

  1. Position the vehicle on a level surface. Place the manual in PARK.

  2. Make clean the area around the crankcase bleed plug.

    Caution

    Hot oil can cause burns to pare. Practice not allow hot oil to contact skin.

  3. Place a drain pan under the engine crankcase and remove the drain plug. Allow the oil to drain completely.

  4. Using an oil filter wrench, turn the filter counter-clock- wise to remove it.

  5. Using a clean dry cloth, clean the filter sealing surface on the crankcase.

  6. Lubricate the o-ring on the new filter with a film of fresh engine oil. Check to brand sure the o-ring is in practiced condition.

  7. Install the new filter and turn by paw until the filter gasket contacts the sealing surface, so turn an additional three/4 turn.

  8. Reinstall the crankcase drain plug with a new sealing washer. Torque to 12 ft. lbs. (xvi Nm).

    Note

    The sealing surface on the drain plug should exist clean and costless of burns, nicks, or scratches.

  9. Remove the oil fill cap and add 2.5 quarts (2.4 l) of recommended oil. Reinstall the fill cap.

  10. Start the engine and allow it to idle for thirty seconds.

  11. Stop the engine. Expect xv seconds before removing the dipstick.

  12. Remove the dipstick. Wipe it dry with a clean cloth.

  13. Reinstall the dipstick completely. Remove the dipstick and check the oil level.

  14. Remove the oil fill cap to add the recommended oil as needed. Maintain the oil level betwixt the minimum and maximum marks on the dipstick. Exercise not overfill.

  15. Reinstall the fill cap.

  16. Reinstall the dipstick.

  17. Dispose of used filter and oil properly.
